Diigo is so much more that Delicious that it’s not even funny. When I started using more web 2.0 tools in earnest, Delicious had been out of awhile and Diigo was relatively new. It was immediately apparent that the popularity of the former was because of it’s early mover advantage. It was out in front with a large user base, while Diigo had a MUCH richer feature set, but was behind.

Why is Diigo better? Annotations. It’s the main course of this app, and the social aspect is the icing on the cake only. They are different tools with different strengths, yet Diigo can do what Delicious can’t. There is no vice versa. Where the value of Delicious is seeing what everybody says (and this is often gamed by people with an agenda), Diigo let’s you build a potentiality infinite personal database, easily dissected and made into various lists by name or keyword. If you want to check it against the rabble, you can see if others have bookmarked it…yay

Diigo makes the web readable and writable. It has enhanced my use of the web more than any other tool. You should use it, period

has a helpful video on cameras that shoot HD. I’ve been thinking of getting one of these, but it’s hard to narrow it down. Thanks Steve, it’s a mess trying to figure this out.

Dog Ears :: Firefox Add-ons

I wrote this so I wouldn’t lose track of interesting areas of extremely long pages. This extension will let you dog-ear parts of a page so you can move on without fear of being unable to find them later. Marking a spot will place a digit, starting with 1, on the page. You can then quickly return to these marked areas by using a hotkey (Shift+Spacebar) or by clicking the status bar icon

Lastpass is simply the best password cross-platform, cross-browser available. There are really no substitutes unless local storage is your desire. Nothing works with as many browsers, and it has simply revolutionized getting things done on the web. Before there was simply friction. Now, it is smooth sailing.

For example, on firefox, I have a way to switch to Safari https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=safari. Often, I am compelled to do this because I have so much loaded in firefox, it lags connecting to a site (esp. G reader). But when I used to load safari, then I had to LOG IN. As of yesterday. I can now just start typing. No friction see,  I can log in instantly. Similarly on windows, I can load safari and chrome and BAM!  I love it.
